Costa Blanca Golf
Alenda Golf Course - Monforte Del Cid, Spain
Gently rolling, varied course with well distributed holes, Alenda Golf Club was designed by Roland Favrat and opened in 1999. The fairways are gently rolling and the greens have tricky slopes requiring a good line and putting stroke. The first 9 holes are wide and lined by trees. The last 9 holes require great concentration and precision counts for more than distance. An entertaining course for players of every level. Alenda Golf was created in 1997 and offers a splendid 18 hole golf course, PAR 72 and 6257 metres, on a mountain course overlooking the sea. The club is an old restored farm house where you can find a restaurant-cafeteria, changing rooms and golf shop. There is also a driving range and putting green. The first 9 holes are entertaining and easier to play, with wide fairways which help tee shots limited by pines, carob trees and palm trees. On the contrary, the second 9 holes require a higher concentration being more technical and precision is more important than distance.

It is in a large residential are of 535,000 m2, the course distance is 6.270 metres and is a 72 par. Seve once mentioned that the course is very attractive and variated and said you will use all your clubs. Each hole is very specific and each requires a different strategy. The holes are a constant personal bet for players.
Large trees and wide fairways give this course its own personality with five huge lakes which condition the play. It is spacious but there are a number of holes with out-of-bounds and the course increases in difficulty as it goes on.

Golf Club Altor Real - Murcia
Situated in the hills above the city of Murcia, Altorreal is a semi-private 18 hole, Dave Thomas designed championship golf course. It is notable for it´s strategic use of water, which comes into play particularly on the 9th and 18th holes.
A challenging course for players of all abilities. The course is situated just a few kilometres North from the provincial capital of Murcia and has some superb mountain scenery. It is conveniently located 45 minutes from Murcia (San Javier) Airport, or one hour from Alicante Airport. The opening hole at Altorreal is a short but tricky par 4 with a dogleg to the right. When playing from the tee, care must be taken with the bunker to the left, and the lake to the right may catch out even the most experienced player. The second shot should be a short iron to a green protected by a large deep bunker to its left.

It is also worth a visit but there is so much to discover in such a short space of time. Try aiming for the following sites and you wont be disappointed :- Santa Barbara Castle, La Explanada and Port, the Santa Cruz quarter and the old town, and, the Marq. If you have a little more time then take a visit to the Isla de Tabarca which can be reached by boat from the port of Alicante, opposite the Explanada esplanade. It is approximately 1,800 metres long and measures some 400 metres across at its widest point and is the only inhabited island in the region. Don Cayo Golf Club, Altea, Costa Blanca
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Bernia mountains, this 9-hole course is close to the pretty coastal resort of Altea with its historic old town clustered around the white-washed church. Opened in 1974, this fabulous little course was designed by the architects Pedro Barber and Gregorio Sands and is a 'very strenuous' 72 par.
The 5th, a 580 metre par 5, is a particularly difficult hole, as is the uphill 227 metre par 3 6th hole. Both of these alternate with recovery holes requiring precision to land the ball on the fairway. The 3rd hole is kinder and offers lovely sea views whilst from the 7th players can just make out the Marina Baixa and the mountains surrounding it. Open all year round and with 5 bays, it also has private golf lesson available in English, German and Spanish.
El Bosque Golf - Chiva, Valencia, Spain
The location of the course at the foot of a mountain is without a doubt the spot in which Robert Trent Jones Snr. was inspired in terms of the design of the course. Surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation, the prestigious designer took advantage of the location in order to add beauty and movement to the 18 freeways of the course. He also managed to combine perfectly the sloping freeways with water obstacles and 90 sand traps. The bunkers are strategically positioned at the end of the freeway and surrounding the entrance of each green. The greens are extremely fast and demanding and are on ground level.
For this reason the "El Bosque" club, with a par 72 and 6249 metres of longitude, is considered an ideal course for hosting high level competitions. The course is a technical journey where the choice of the correct club is fundamental if we wish the end result to be a success.
El Plantio Golf - Elche, Alicante, Spain - Top 100 Course Spain
Golf at El Plantio originally started with a 9-hole course back in 1993 and since then a further 18 holes have been added. The main course, built in 2000, is a test to all golfers and there are many quality holes. El Plantio Golf Club is a pay-and-play facility with no club members at all. With a 9-hole par 3 course to complement the full 18 holes and practice facilities including a two-tier driving range, it has become a very popular place to play golf with visitors coming from all over Europe. Naturally the course is still maturing and the lack of housing around the property helps the course to sit comfortably within the natural landscape. More than 30,000 trees have been planted and already these are defining the fairways. Eventually these palm, fig and cork trees will surround many of the holes which will help to provide even more definition.
El Plantio starts impressively, with a tough par four where water lurks to the left of the green – a par or even a bogey is a welcome start. The challenging start continues at the 2, an up hill par five. By all means take a couple of minutes after the hole to enjoy the views over the course and the surrounding Alicante area. The front nine is a mixture of holes should not cause too much trouble, but they still require respect, as wayward shots will be punished.
The back nine brings two lakes into play that are only marginal on the first nine holes. The 10th, 12th, 15th and 17th all have to be taken seriously as these water hazards await the wayward shot. Perhaps the best run of holes start at the 13th, a short par four that has a new man-made waterfall halfway down the fairway and an uphill approach to a green that measures nearly 100 metres from back to front. The 14th is a lovely long par three around 200 metres in length with a mountain running the length of the hole on the left side. The par five 15th completes this run and has an elevated tee, inviting a big tee shot with the hope of being able to reach the green in two. El Plantio has grand plans. A five star hotel opened in 2008.

Escorpion Golf Course - 27 Hole, Valencia, Spain

Although the course landscape is not undulating, it still has five lakes and numerous bunkers protecting fairways and greens.

The nearly 6500 yard course has been designed for tournaments. The natural setting not only provides majestic views of lakes, trees and mountains but it also challenges and makes the game more exciting, including have to hit a ball on an island green on the fifth. Visit many of the other neighboring golf courses when you have completed a round at La Finca. Or perhaps visit the towns of nearby Algorfa and Orihuela. La Finca is truly a golfing sanctuary and definitely one of Spain 's sacred treasures.
Golf La Manga North - La Manga, Murcia
An undulating championship course sprawling between palm trees, lakes and 'barrancas'. These natural storm gullies feature on all three golf courses and add an extra dimension to the game. Slightly shorter than the South, with tighter fairways and larger greens, the North Course offers a different, yet no less challenging, round of golf. A feature of the newly constructed greens, all built to USGA specification, is the amount of movement incorporated in them, none more so than the short Par 3, 2nd, which has three distinct plateaux - a great test of putting. Relying on precision rather than length, an added challenge is provided by the wide variety of water hazards and 'barrancas' that snake their way through the course. This gem is sure to provide a stern test of shot making from golfers of all standards.
Golf La Manga South Exclusive - La Manga, Murcia
Opened in 1971, La Manga Golf Club's longest golf course was remodelled by Arnold Palmer in 1992 and refurbished in 2004. The South golf course has staged both men's and women's Spanish PGA Championships and was the home of the European Tour Q-School for several years.
Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and their millionaire mates in the England squad don't stay in rubbish resorts. They want the best for their £100,000 a week – and that's why they're always staying in La Manga South Golf Club. The most famous of the three golf courses – the South – has just reopened following a complete refurbishment.
Not bad when you consider the old layout – designed in 1971 and modified by Arnold Palmer in 1992 – was good enough to host five Spanish Opens!

Panoramica Golf Course - San Rafael De Rio, Spain
Panoramica Golf Course was designed by the German golfer Bernhard Langer in 80 hectares of fantastic setting amidst the olive groves of San Jorge, Spain. Although a two time winner of the Masters of Augusta and nine time player of Europe Ryder Cup Team, much thinking was demanded from Langer to make a perfect spot for this 18 hole par 72 course covering 6429 meters. The design is reflected from a typical American model and offers some beautiful fairways and greens to play on and some tricky rough. It then alters the course to an ideal high handicaps as well as players with a high level and specimen. The course was proudly host to the Spanish Open Ladies European Tour 2005 and 2006. Panoramica Golf Course prides its self on offering clients a quality service such as the 300 x 150 meters of driving range, electric caddy cars, changing rooms and a par 3 hole course adjacent to the practice area. The Clubhouse is a great place to enjoy the 19th hole for some food and drinks in the sun.
Real De Faula Levante Golf Club - Benidorm, Alicante
Real De Faula Levante Golf Club, the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, opened in early 2006. Jack's use of the rocky canyons found in the natural terrain lend the layout almost a desertlike feel. He has also used a freestyle approahc to bunkering and his trademark elevated tees make sure it is all visible in front of you. New, but destined for success. The Levante is the championship layout at Real de Faula, and is widely regarded as one of the Costa Blanca's most challenging and enjoyable tests. In true Golden Bear style, there is much in the way of ‘risk/reward', where the brave may be richly rewarded for an aggressive strategy, however the penalties are sure to be severe if you stray too far off line.
Very much in the mould of an American resort track, the Levante has pretty generous fairways and gentle undulations throughout, while the large greens are receptive, and maintained to a superb standard. At 7,297 yards, it favours the long hitters out there, but there is something to entertain everyone, not least the spectacular views.
Real De Faula Poniente Golf Club - Benidorm, Alicante
The Levante course is an American style championship course with broad fairways and exquisitely moulded greens. Players enjoy marvellous views of the Mediterranean and the Finestrat mountain range. Because the course is not part of any real estate development or urban area, it allows players to enjoy their game in completely natural surroundings with uninterrupted views in the spectacular setting provided by Spain’s Levante region. The Poniente course is an executive course integrated into the downslope of a lovely valley populated by Mediterranean pines with views of the sea and the mountains. The design of this course enables all sorts of players to enjoy a great golfing experience regardless of their handicap. While this round takes less time to play than the Levante course, it is by no means less exciting. It requires greater mastery of short irons and places heavy demands on the low handicap player, although all its holes offer alternatives to players with medium and high handicaps.
Villamartin Championship Golf Course - Villamartin, Spain
Due to the hilly location, it has the first nine holes on higher hills from where the golfers can enjoy a pleasant view while playing. The Mediterranean Open of 1994 was hosted on Villamartin Golf Course which gave it the pride to host many other such championships.
